About the factory

Medea has worked in Meda, the heart of furniture-making Brianza, since 1905. It knows how to make furniture after historical models, such as late nineteenth-century English classicism and French Liberty, while developing the contemporary Medea1905 line and the collection by British designer Tara Bernerd.

The Heritage line is collectors' classicism: tables, chairs, armchairs, chests of drawers and display cabinets with carving, marquetry and patina, made as they were a hundred years ago. For houses in the classical style this is a rare chance to have not a stylisation but a piece of historical accuracy.

The Medea1905 line translates the factory's craftsmanship into a contemporary language: calm forms, fine veneers, leather and metal. The Tara Bernerd for Medea collection adds London restraint to this, with furniture for living and dining rooms that combines easily with contemporary architecture.

For each piece the factory provides a technical sheet with dimensions and finish options; Medea's portfolio includes hotels and restaurants in Italy.

Why through the studio

01

Selected by the studio

Out of hundreds of Italian factories we work with a few whose quality we have seen in our own houses. You do not compare — you choose.

02

Studio terms

Direct factory conditions instead of showroom retail. The saving on furnishing often covers the interior project.

03

One responsibility

Specification, order, factory control, delivery, customs and assembly on site — the studio, not you.

Medea 1905 furniture in the studio's projects

Medea 1905 is an Italian furniture maker from Meda, Lombardy, active since 1905. Its three lines are Heritage, historical replicas of English and French classicism; Medea1905, contemporary furniture for the home; and Tara Bernerd for Medea, a collection by a British designer. The catalogue includes tables and chairs, armchairs and sofas, chests of drawers, display cabinets, consoles and beds.

For the studio, Medea is the factory for houses where classicism must be authentic: carved chairs, display cabinets with marquetry and patina, writing desks with historical detailing. We use the contemporary lines in the same houses for guest and private areas, so that the house reads as a whole.

Ordering through the studio means factory terms, selection of finishes from samples, supervision of production in Italy, and delivery and assembly under a single responsibility.

Q&A

Is Heritage antique furniture?

No. These are new pieces made after historical models using the same techniques: carving, marquetry and hand-applied patina.

Can the finish be changed?

Yes. Most pieces come in several finishes for wood, fabric and leather; we agree them from samples.

How long is the wait for delivery?

Typically 12 to 16 weeks for production, plus delivery from Italy.
