Structural glass facades

Glass from floor to roof — a facade that is almost not there.

Design a facade for your house

Post-and-beam glass facades in warm aluminium: a continuous glazed plane from floor to roof with the thinnest possible sightlines, so the house is drawn in light instead of walls. Engineered, produced and installed by the studio to carry the load and hold the heat.

By day the facade dissolves into reflections of the sky and the trees; by evening it turns into a warm lantern with the life of the house inside.

A post-and-beam facade is a structure, not a big window: slim verticals every few metres carry two storeys of glass, and we calculate wind load, glass weight and thermal expansion before a single profile is cut.

The warm-aluminium contour with a thermal break lets us glaze a whole wall without paying for it in winter — no draughts, no condensation, no cold radiating off the glass; triplex and solar-control units keep it safe and cool in summer.

Why order it through the studio

01

Calculated, not just assembled

A two-storey glass wall is a structure: we calculate wind load, glass weight and thermal expansion before a single profile is cut.

02

Studio price and own production

A direct contract with the partner’s automated workshop gives a price, lead time and warm systems the open market will not offer.

03

One responsibility

Survey, calculation, fabrication, delivery and installation — one contractor answers for the whole facade.

Floor to roof

Two storeys of glass on a slim contour

A structural glass facade lets a house be drawn in light instead of walls. We work it across two and three storeys — panoramic living rooms, double-height halls, glazed staircases — keeping the sightlines as thin as the structure allows and the whole plane warm through a hard winter.

A glass facade is engineering pretending to be air. We do the engineering so you get the air.
