The large Josephine lamp carries on the Empire theme of the line of the same name in a more restrained form: an entirely porcelain body with no fabric shade, with an old-gold patina on the relief details. At 76 cm high it becomes a noticeable accent on a console or a chest of drawers.
The body is handmade porcelain, made at the Villari factory in Italy; the gilding is applied and aged by hand, which gives a soft rather than showy shine on the relief details of the form.
