Storage W017

The classic W017 chest of drawers by Zanaboni, decorated with intricate mother-of-pearl and fine-wood marquetry, is a centrepiece for a formal drawing room.

The classic W017 chest is a fine example of the decorative arts. Its fronts are adorned with extremely elaborate inlay made up of sixteen thousand pieces of Australian mother-of-pearl, haliotis shell and artificial ivory. The floral motifs are carved by hand from solid yew, cypress, boxwood and pau marfim.

The foundation of this artistic composition is French thuya burl veneer with its characteristically complex figure. The piece is made by hand by Italian master cabinet-makers who pass the secrets of the craft from generation to generation. This approach ensures the durability of the furniture and preserves its aesthetic value for many decades.

Studio noteThis piece suits a formal drawing room or dining room as the principal decorative accent. We would place it beneath a large mirror or a painting in a classical frame.
